$50K Gift Establishes Lynch Memorial Fund for Student Mental Health
The Chambersburg Area Education Foundation (CAEF) wishes to announce the establishment of the Thomas B. Lynch, Jr. Memorial Fund, a new initiative that will support the development of mental health and wellness programs for students. The inaugural gift of $50,000 was provided by an anonymous donor with a desire to impact students in the Chambersburg Area School District.
Created to honor the life and legacy of Thomas B. Lynch, Jr., the fund will focus on expanding educational resources that address the mental and emotional well-being of students across all grade levels.
A Meaningful Legacy for Student Wellness
This gift will allow CAEF to launch support of comprehensive, research-based initiatives aimed at fostering emotional resilience, reducing stigma, and strengthening the overall mental health support available to students.
Possible initiatives supported by the fund include student mental health awareness events and workshops, training for educators and staff, parent and family outreach, and suicide prevention initiatives.
Leadership Perspective
“We are deeply honored to steward this meaningful gift in memory of Thomas B. Lynch, Jr.,” said Anne Boryan, President of the CAEF Board of Directors. “This fund reflects a heartfelt commitment to the well-being of our students and will have a lasting impact on their lives and learning.”
The Foundation will work closely with school district leadership, mental health professionals, and community partners to implement and evaluate these programs, ensuring they are both effective and sustainable.
