Sixteenth issue of ‘Career Guide’ magazine released

DOHA: The Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), established by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, has released the 16th issue of its magazine, ‘Career Guide’, the first Qatari publication specializing in career guidance and development.

The magazine aims to help students explore their educational and career options and acquire the skills necessary to build a sustainable professional future.

The 16th issue features a collection of articles and interviews showcasing the real-life experiences of young men and women who have pursued successful educational and professional paths in diverse fields, including aircraft maintenance engineering, genomics, sports training, urban planning, and entrepreneurship.
The issue also includes articles highlighting key issues related to developing young people’s skills and enhancing their readiness for the job market, as well as emphasizing the role of parents, mentors, and teachers in the career guidance process.

Regarding the importance of this issue, Saad Abdullah Al Kharji, Executive Director of the Qatar Career Development Center, said: “The release of the sixteenth issue of ‘Career Guide’ comes at a time when students, their families, teachers, and counselors are in dire need of a reliable source that provides scientifically based career guidance and helps them understand the available educational and career options, enabling them to make more informed decisions.”

He added: “We see this magazine as a practical tool for students at school, a supportive resource for parents, and a means of assisting counselors and teachers in fulfilling their mission within the school community.”

Al Kharji expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in distributing the magazine to schools, and for the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in making it available through Qatari embassies and consulates abroad. This contributes to expanding its reach to students both within and outside the country, and enhances its value as a specialized knowledge resource that contributes to building human capital capable of keeping pace with the transformations of the labor market and the requirements of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Over the past years, ‘Career Guide’ magazine has established itself as a specialized reference in the field of career guidance and development, reaching more than 300,000 readers inside and outside Qatar through its print and digital editions. These readers include school and university students, graduates, parents, academic and career advisors, teachers, and decision-makers concerned with education and labor market issues.

The magazine is published annually in Arabic and English under licence from the Ministry of Culture and is distributed to schools, universities, institutes, and educational institutions, as well as ministries, government agencies, and private sector companies.

Its digital version is also available via the Qatar Career Development Center website and the magazine’s application on smartphones and tablets, allowing readers to view issue 16 and all previous issues anytime and from anywhere.
