InZOI: University Professor Career Guide

Becoming a University Professor in InZOI is easy and doesn’t require much effort, making it a good choice if you want a simple but satisfying job for your Zoi. It’s also a lot easier than it seems, but it tends to be less fun.
There are plenty of InZOI features that are better than The Sims, but this is not one of them. However, the game is still in Early Access, so plenty can change. Once you figure out the process for this career, you’ll be able to rank up easily.

Where To Go To Become A Professor
The only rule to becoming a University Professor in InZOI is that your Zoi must be between the Young Adult and Middle-Aged age groups. You don’t need any special skills, education (like a college degree), or personality traits to start this career. That was really weird for me to understand, but it saves you a lot of time reading or developing skills. I have not noticed it being any easier with a higher critical thinking skill or anything like that, but that may change as the game gets updated week by week.

To get it, just go to your Zoi smartphone, located at the bottom of the screen, and then go to the careers section. The place you’re going to work at differs based on where you chose to live at first, but there are only two places you can go to.
- Bliss Bay – Bliss Bay University
- Dowon – University of Youngsung
If a position is available, just select it; if it’s not, there’s an easy way to go around that. Just find out who the current professor is and locate them. Once you’re near them, you can click on them and press the play button, which looks like an arrow pointing to the right. This will switch you to their character. Pause, look for the smartphone, and quit your job. Then, you can switch back to your Zoi by clicking on them and pressing the play button.
You don’t need any special skills, education (like a college degree), or personality traits to start this career.
Alternatively, find them on the family menu and play as their family, and then quit from their phone. This is harder because of how bad the menus in InZOI are, so I recommend just finding them in the game instead. You skip a lot of loading screens and difficulties by just hanging out at different areas in the city for an in-game hour or two to wait for their character.
All University Professor Tasks And How To Complete Them
There Are Two Types Of Jobs
There are two types of jobs in InZOI: rabbit hole and active job. University Professor is, unfortunately, a rabbit hole job. Rabbit hole just means the player goes into a location, and you don’t see them until they come out. So, just click the briefcase on the right and click a task to do it, that’s all. This is similar to The Sims 3, where you can tell your Sims what to do at work while they are gone.
Job |
Schedule |
Salary (daily) |
Tasks |
---|---|---|---|
Assistant Professor (beginning rank) |
Tuesday: 9am to 3pm Wednesday: 9am to 3pm Thursday: 9am to 3pm |

Full Professor |
Tuesday: 9am to 3pm Wednesday: 9am to 3pm Thursday: 9am to 3pm |

Distinguished Professor |

To be clear, the tasks don’t do anything. All you’re doing is sending your Zoi to work and waiting for them to come back during set hours. Zois work from Tuesday through Thursday, beginning at 9 am and coming home at 3 pm. Remember that these tasks don’t actually help the Zoi move up in their career or learn new skills. They’re mostly there to make the role-playing experience feel more real.

I Can’t Tell If InZOI Is Too Good To Be True, Or If The Sims Has Lowered My Expectations
InZOI has been hyped up as a Sims killer, but I can’t tell if it’s too good to be true, or if I just have low expectations after years with The Sims.
When Zoi is an Assistant Professor, the tasks are basic and not very complicated. The player picks these tasks from a menu, but choosing tasks doesn’t make the Zoi get promoted any faster. There’s also an option to “Leave Early,” but I haven’t found that this has done much of anything. (There are plenty of things InZOI needs to fix in Early Access, and that’s one of them.)
Above are the things to do when you are promoted. Once the Zoi becomes a Full Professor, they receive a new bar to get them to Distinguished Professor. Besides the new tasks you can assign, which don’t do anything, you make more money as you’re promoted.
Just like before, the player picks these tasks from a menu, even though the tasks still don’t affect how quickly the Zoi gets promoted. You can help students, lecture, write, and more, but nothing will change, and you’re not even watching it happen, since the Zoi disappeared into the building. Moving up in this InZOI professor career only happens as the progression bar fills up by itself over time. So you’re just trying to wait out the hours to be promoted to the next level.
