Chumoukedima, February 2 (MExN): A free career guidance talk was conducted at CTC Hall, Chumoukedima, on February 1, organized by NITI Nagaland. The event saw participation from students, parents, educators, and public leaders.
Chairperson of Chumoukedima Town Council (CTC), Lhousito Khro, attended as the chief guest and commended NITI Nagaland for the initiative. He lauded the contributions of two Youth Icons of Nagaland, who served as resource persons, and assured CTC’s support for similar programs in the future.
Over 120 students from Class IX to XII, representing schools such as Godwin Hr. Sec. School, Mount Mary Hr. Sec. School, and North Town Hr. Sec. School, attended the seminar. NEET and JEE repeaters, parents, STEM teachers, public leaders, and NGO representatives were also present.
The resource persons, Er. Rishav Sethi, CEO of NITI Nagaland, and Pangerkumzuk Longkumer, cybersecurity expert and entrepreneur, shared insights on career opportunities in STEM fields. Both had recently participated in the Young Dialogue Forum at Viksit Bharat, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Er. Rishav Sethi discussed career pathways in medicine and engineering through NEET and JEE, emphasizing the benefits of structured local study programs. He highlighted how Nagaland’s students could save time and money while preparing for premier institutes like IITs and AIIMS.
Pangerkumzuk Longkumer, a self-taught cybersecurity professional, spoke on emerging cybersecurity trends and ethical hacking. Encouraging students to embrace innovation, he stated, “STEM is not just about academics; it’s about solving real-world problems.” As the founder of NexusCipherGuard India, he also provided insights on penetration testing, website security, and digital threat training.
The event began with an invocation by Fr. Chacko Karinthiyal, followed by a welcome address and a vote of thanks delivered by Ajay Sethi, MD, NITI Nagaland. Pallavi Acharjee served as the event’s anchor.
Senior GB and Chairman of Chumoukedima Village, Akung, expressed hope for more such programmes to guide students toward better career prospects.
Prominent attendees included Moasenla Jamir, Vice-Chairperson of CTC, Keviseno Kruse, Councillor of CTC, Rosy Yanthan, President of Lotha Women Hoho, and other public figures.
NITI Nagaland extended gratitude to all participants and supporters, including the Chumoukedima Town Council and the Angami Public Organisation, for contributing to the event’s success.
