What Is a Romantic Consultant’s Main Career

Relationship Counselor Branch

The Romantic Consultant is a career path in The Sims 4 Lovestruck. They are experts on love and can coach others on how to find romance or enhance an existing relationship. They gain special outfits, rewards, and interactions with other Sims. To advance in the career, your Sim needs to be lucky and love themselves, along with being a smooth talker and a bit of a brainiac. How much of the latter two skills will depend on which branch you specialize in.

Like most careers in The Sims4, the Romantic Consultant’s promotions are based on Skill ranks. Making a Sim who builds Skills quickly is key to advancing upward. Consider picking skill-related traits when making a family in Create A Sim. This can include the Overachiever, Genius, and Ambitious traits. You will also want to keep Likes and Dislikes appropriate for daily tasks. After all, if a Sim hates their job, then promotions will be less frequent.

Select Find a Job on the associated Sim’s phone or computer to begin the Romantic Consultant career. The Sim must be at least a Young Adult for the Romantic Consultant option to appear in the next window. This is even true for a Teen Sim who has already graduated from Copperdale High in The Sims 4 High School Years; they must age up first, even if they are a super genius enrolled in college.

YouTuber Elliandra gave the new career a try. Most of the job involves using the computer to research topics and chat with clients. For career promotions, the Sim will need a good Romance Skill level, either by reading books or experiencing love firsthand.

The Sims 4 Discover University
has not been updated to include a specific Romantic Consultant degree. However, you can indirectly gain the required Skill ranks by majoring in
Communications

Psychology
. With the expansion pack installed, you can also attend Skill classes via the phone.

Matchmakers prefer to help single Sims find new love or discover great dating spots for established partners. Besides the existing Romance skill, you will also want to focus heavily on the Charisma Skill. It is a good idea to practice speech with a Self-Love Wall Mirror, among the best new Buy Mode items in TS4.
