RIGHT? RIGHT. THAT’S RIGHT. I TALKED TO OKLAHOMA CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND MUSTANG PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THAT’S WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW. THEY ACTUALLY DECLARED A VIRTUAL LEARNING DAY BACK ON FRIDAY. AN HOURS AGO. THEY SAID THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL, WILL BE A SNOW DAY ON MONDAY. BUT TUESDAY, THAT’S STILL TO BE DETERMINED. CHECKING IN WITH CHARLES BRADLEY, SUPERINTENDENT, HE SAID THAT DECISION REALLY COMES DOWN TO STAFF SAFETY, BUT WITH MANY STUDENTS ACTUALLY COUNTING ON SCHOOL TO GET TO THEIR NEXT MEAL AND A SAFE SPACE, HE HOPES IT CAN BE AN INCENTIVE FOR FOLKS TO CLEAR THE ROADS AND THE SIDEWALKS SO CLASSES CAN CONTINUE. OKLAHOMA CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ECHOED THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY TO US EARLIER TODAY. DISTRICT LEADERS MET THIS AFTERNOON TO MAKE THE CALL TO CANCEL CLASSES ON MONDAY. THE DISTRICT CAREFULLY CONSIDER SEVERAL FACTORS, INCLUDING ROAD CONDITIONS, WEATHER FORECASTS, OUR BUILDING SAFETY, OUR BUILDING SAFETY. AGAIN, LOOKING AHEAD TO TUESDAY, WE ASKED SUPERINTENDENT BRADLEY IF KIDS WILL BE BACK IN THE CLASSROOMS AND HE SAID IT’S A DEFINITE MAYBE THEY HAVE TO WATCH FOR FACTORS LIKE THE WEATHER AND THE ROAD CONDITIONS, KNOWING THEY HAVE BOTH URBAN AND RURAL COMMUNITIES THAT FALL INTO THEIR DISTRICT.
